Elections: Kano APC accuse Police of bias, discrimination

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Kano State chapter, yesterday, accused the Kano police Command of bias and discrimination against its members in the run-up to next Saturday’s governorship and state Assembly elections in the State.

The Party Chairman in the State, Abdullahi Abbas, told newsmen, in Kano, that the Police had on a number of times deliberately failed to act on infringement against its members in spite of overwhelming evidence at their disposal.

The former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Rabiu Bichi, who stood in for the APC Chairman during the media parley, accused two senior police officers at the Command of Partisanship

Abbas said “We just discovered that a leader of the NNPP in Tudun-Wada local government area, Nura Dankadal, is an uncle to the Deputy Commissioner (D-C) CID; while another leader of the NNPP, in Albasu LGA, in the person of Usman Korial, is the Guardian of D-C Operations. Maybe that explains the reason why all our petitions were not treated”.

Bichi, who spoke on behalf of the Party’s State Chairman, urged the Police to invite for questioning the immediate-past Executive Secretary, TETFUND, Dr. Abdullahi Bappa Bichi, to reveal where bandits he claimed were brought in from Chad , and Niger Republics are being kept.

The APC further called on the NNPP to desist from intimidating the security agencies with threat of violent protest and grandstanding.

The ruling party admonished that “NNPP must stop intimidating the security forces with their threat of violent protest and grandstanding. They should remember you can’t clap with only one hand. A stich in time saves nine”.
